acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient science that dates back over 3,500 years to China. Acupuncture is renowned for its ability to relieve pain, soothe anxiety and stress, and help alleviate many common and uncommon symptoms and illnesses. An acupuncture treatment is like a bath for your nervous and immune systems — it releases neurotransmitters such as endorphins and serotonin, reduces inflammation, and balances your internal ecosystem.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a safe and effective modality that can help with pain, tension, inflammation, stress, and detoxification. It helps the body get rid of stagnant toxins or cell waste that stagnates in the muscles or joints, and therefore manifests as discomfort, pain, or immobility. Cupping also increases blood circulation and lymphatic flow. At Whole Body Mantra we use a variety of cupping techniques including fire cupping, Korean vacuum cupping, and facial cupping.

Electroacupuncture

Electroacupuncture, also known as electro-stim or e-stim, is the application of small amounts of current to acupuncture needles, with the intention of activating specific meridians during a treatment. Treatments are painless and the frequency and intensity of the pulse is customized for each individual. Clinical research demonstrates its efficacy in treating a multitude of pain conditions, in addition to women's health and fertility.

Aroma Acupoint Therapy is a powerful combination of aromatherapy and energy work. Therapeutic essential oils are applied to specific acupuncture points to move and balance Qi along the meridians, based on the principles of Chinese Medicine. This safe, non-invasive technique is appropriate for all ages, including children and the elderly, and can be used alone or in combination with acupuncture.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion, also known as moxa, is a form of heat therapy using an herb called mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) burned at or above specific acupuncture points. The practice of moxibustion predates acupuncture and is known as zhen jiu 针灸 in Chinese. Moxa strengthens the digestive system, treats menstrual disorders, reduces inflammation, boosts immunity, and increases circulation. It is also used to turn breech babies!

Auriculotherapy

Auriculotherapy refers to the stimulation of pressure points on the ear. The ear is believed to be a microsystem of the entire body, much like how hands and feet in reflexology theory correspond to various organs and systems in the body. Ear pressure points can be stimulated with either acupuncture or adhesive "ear seeds," which contain a vaccaria seed or metal-plated pellet.
